I wrote AI that plays Jam City’s match-3 games and turned that into a suite of tools used by level designers and QA.
MeLLmo makes RoamBI and RoamBI Flow, business intelligence data visualization for iPhone and iPad. I worked with large databases using the limited resources of a mobile device for complex interactive displays of information. I developed Audience, a system for viewers to follow the actions of a presenter navigating a RoamBI Flow document on networked devices.
I designed, developed and published games for iPhone and iPad: Boomtown Boardwalk, Buddha Balance, Bees and Bees HD.
Rockstar San Diego develops video games and provides the core technology used worldwide in games published by Rockstar Games. I implemented and supported the wide range of physics simulations used in Rockstar’s games, including cloth and rope in Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar’s articulated body system for Grand Theft Auto IV, and Rockstar’s vehicle and collision systems for the Midnight Club series of games. I developed and supported the core physics engine used at Rockstar’s game studios around the world for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
I created and supported the physics engine used in 10 published games for Xbox, Playstation 2 and Windows PC. I made the collision detection and resolution system for open-world driving games with breakable and deformable objects, and physics for a wide range of vehicles.
I directed a team of programmers making graphic user interfaces for particle accelerator simulations.

With a major in physics and a minor in writing, I was active juggling, bicycle racing, and rowing on the UCSD crew team.
1990 – 1995
My dissertation “Thermal Equilibrium of Charged Particle Beams” included simulation, experiment and theory on the behavior of tightly focused beams in large particle accelerators. As a graduate student I published 7 articles in peer-reviewed physics journals.
