Honors & Awards

  • Winner, NEAR Protocol Blockchain Challenge

NEAR Protocol at DeveloperWeek Hackathon 2019

    February 2019

Received 1st Place for NEAR Protocol Blockchain Challenge at DeveloperWeek Hackathon 2019 on February 24, 2019 for Hack Squad. Hack Squad is a decentralized hackathon-style challenge platform that programmatically vets technologists and matches them to a specific challenge’s needs and incentivizes innovation atop their technologies. Our dApp curates a roster of qualified hackers and allows companies to offer them tokens to bootstrap participation. This provides hackers a fair opportunity to compete for the best innovations and bragging rights, and companies can jumpstart new startups built on their tech. Submissions are live streamed to the community and the sponsoring companies using the Wowza Media live stream API (we also won a sponsor prize of theirs) and can be upvoted by the community. Winning submissions will unlock the tokens from the smart contract based on conditions set by the company and community. Hackers can earn tokens from offers, winning prizes, or earning upvotes. Crypto enables a more dynamic payment system with near-instant settlement. We built our dApp and incentive mechanism on the NEAR Protocol.
