Programming gave me the tools to automate mind-numbing repetition so that I could focus on interesting problems. I love the sense of freedom and the dopamine burst from problem-solving in software engineering. Along the way, I’ve been invigorated by the passion and brilliance of some of the folks in tech who are constantly looking for ways to help others. I would love to be able to give back in my own way.

Volunteer Experience & Causes

  • Referee

    USA Powerlifting California

    November 2013 – November 2017(4 years)

I volunteer as a USA Powerlifting California State powerlifting referee at local powerlifting meets. Becoming a USAPL state judge/referee requires a certification obtained by taking a written and practical exam. Competitive powerlifting has taught me about building the dedication and grit needed to achieve difficult goals. Through this volunteer position, I am able to give back to the powerlifting community–a community that is unbelievably positive and motivating. My life would simply not be the same without this sport.
